Mauser guard screw sleeve

Looking at bedding my Mark X into a synthetic stock ... according to Kuhnhausen's manual I should start by bedding in the rear guard screw sleeve.

However, I noticed that the sleeve is maybe not quite long enough--the magazine box is pressing upward on the receiver rails, which can't be good for accuracy.

For now I put a washer on the screw but should I try to find a longer sleeve? If so, where should I find one--can some kind of common hardware store tubing do the job? I think it needs to be about 0.050" longer than the one I've got.

John,
You can glass bed it in with steel bed and the steel bed will take up the slack or you might try a piece of aluminum arrow shaft...

Just found a replacement rear guard sleeves that are slightly longer and heavier than standard to allow fitting. They are in Browneel,s #54 catalogue.
