I just picked up a 788 in 6 mm. Any suggestions on how I can clean up the trigger?

These triggers aren't adjustable like a 700 trigger. I took mine to a competent gunsmith who said they could be worked down. Haven't got it back yet, but he said he's done many of them with good success.

Mike, the 788's can be cleaned up real nice. I took mine to Doug Shilen and had him adjust it and now it breaks clean around 2 1/2 pounds. 1000% better than the way it was from the factory. You could send it to Shilen and have them do it, or take it to a gunsmith who's done it before.

On a side note, Canjar made an adjustable trigger for the 788 for a time. I've never seen one, but I think if you could ever get your hands on one, it'd be worth its weight in gold.
