| These triggers aren't adjustable like a 700 trigger. I took mine to a competent gunsmith who said they could be worked down. Haven't got it back yet, but he said he's done many of them with good success.

| Mike, the 788's can be cleaned up real nice. I took mine to Doug Shilen and had him adjust it and now it breaks clean around 2 1/2 pounds. 1000% better than the way it was from the factory. You could send it to Shilen and have them do it, or take it to a gunsmith who's done it before.
On a side note, Canjar made an adjustable trigger for the 788 for a time. I've never seen one, but I think if you could ever get your hands on one, it'd be worth its weight in gold. |
