Would like to read comments, observations and sentiments concerning Krieger barrels. Would like to know what users think about finish, quality of work, accuracy, etc. Please no ad hominem trashing or bashing-- just honest, coherent opinions from real people who use them.

I haven't used them myself, but I have a good shooting buddy who does a lot of the Camp Perry type matches with accurized M1A,M-14 rifles. He helps build them and coaches a shooting team. He absolutely swears by them on their match rifles and wouldn't think of using any other barrels. As I said this is sort of "hearsay", but I have shot with him for over 20 years and very much value his opinions...not to mention all the trophies he has collected. Hope this helps a little bit.

A lot of benchrest shooters, both the 100/200 and 1000yd variety use and win with them. That speaks volumes on their potential accuracy. I have them on two of my rifles and they shoot great. I don't think you can get better, but there are others, such as Shilen, Hart, PacNor, Lilja, etc that make them just a good.
I used them for many years almost exclusively along with a few Pac Nor, Lilja and Douglas, all very good barrels...Krieger are cut rifling and I like cut rifling but they take some extra breaking in, and that's OK...
Today I use Lothar-Walther exclusively as I like their special polishing process and accruacy beats anything else I have used...

I went with a Krieger on my latest project a 300 Win. the barrel was contoured to the metalsmiths own conture, not Krieger's. Having said this I really like it both inside and out, I think it broke in quicker than several other custom barrels I have owned. Very good groups with several different loads, cleans up quick. I would buy again in a heartbeat.
I have custom barrels by kreiger,pac-nor and schneider and to be honest they all perform equally well as far as accuracy is concerned. The kreiger did foul a little more at first but now they are pretty much equal in that area as well.

I have one on a .223 now and it is the easiest barrel to clean I have ever had. Also one of the most accurate. I have 7 blanks in my barrel bin and think they are just about as good as you can get.

I'd say 18 out of 20 Palma Rifles wear a Kreiger, that should say something. I had a Kreiger on my 1st AR-15 Service Rifle and it held 1/2 MOA for over 6000 rounds then was sold along with the gun. That said, I have 2 shilen barreled upper receivers now and can't tell the difference in scores. The cut rifled barrels do seem to last longer.

I'm a novice competitive shooter. I've not yet manage to afford a Krieger barrel, but from where I live, the Krieger barrel is regarded as the "Mount Everest" or the "Rolls Royce" of accurate, reliable barrels. I've been led to understand that it is the best of the best and that you simply cannot go wrong if you order one.
I have two Kriegers and plan on more. I'm a relative novice (compared to others on AR) and to custom barrels, but I shoot prairie dogs at 100 to 200 yards with my .30-06. And from the bench, the rifle patterns less than 2 inches at 300 yards. That impresses me !
