Is the H&R handy rifle strong enough to be rebarreled to 375 JDJ? Why used the homely handy rifle you asked? The new "Primitive" Deer season in Louisiana allows it. I would love to rebarrel a Ruger #1 or 3 but they are not allowed.

The 375 JDJ would be a much better deer round than a 444 or 45-70 which are the other options.

What velocities could be expected with the 200 or 220 gr bullets from a 24" barrel if they can reach 2000+ fps out of 14" pistol barrels?

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

"New England Firearms or Harrington & Richardson Handi Rifles in calber larger than .38"

If that is to be taken literally, the .375JDJ doeasn't qualify either.

I could stamp 380 JDJ or 385 Humbarger just because. Wink
