Can a 300 Dakota be simply "rechambered" to some other .308 cal cartridge?

My comparison of cartridge drawings shows that the .300 RUM would completely clean up the Dakota chamber without setting the barrel back.

I have been told before that what nsaqam says is accurate....wonder why you want to though? I find the Dakota brass lasts forever, and they are darn efficient IME
