As I had no success to remove the lead buildup by conventional means (bronze brush and Shooters Choice) and as I am not willing to spend a whole day on this task, I wonder if there is a solvent which you found helpful.
Thank you and good shooting !

As you have found, the regular Shooters Choice (MC #7) does not remove lead very well. Shooters Choice does make a product for your needs - Shooters Choice Lead Remover. Also RB-17 Gun Cleaner seems to work well on lead.

Waitaminnit. Run, don't walk down to your local supermaket and buy a soapless Chore Girl scouring pad. Strip some of the mesh from the pad, wrap it around your brush and scub away. Shouls clear your bore in five munutes or less, mostly less. Make sure it's either brass or copper, and not stainless steel. Paul B.

Some of You guys sure give that bore a treatment!!!
SC lead remover is not better than other things. A bronce brush and OIL or cleaner will do, but as was remarked, it will take time. IMHO bore brushes should be thrown away more often. There are extra tough brushes on the market, Wilsons or Brownells.
Good shooting! H
