I just had a new stock fitted to one of my Mauser 66's and now the trigger doesn't work reliably. Any suggestions on what to do to rectify the situation or recommendations for a gunsmith with knowledge of these actions?

As you know, xausa, I have no particular knowledge of the 66, except that the trigger would seem to compete for space with the magazine box.

Unless someone comes up with the info you request, you might flick the problem back on the stock maker or lamp-black the trigger and try to relieve any wood it rubs on.

The trigger needs adjusting or it needs to be properly inletted into the wood..

The problem concerns the fact that the trigger is in two units, one connected to the action and the other to the trigger guard, somewhat like the SMLE. Getting the two parts to mesh correctly is the problem.
