Since having my '06 re-barrelled I am battling to get it to group properly. I find the vertical shots spread reasonable (around 1")but not acceptable, but the groups are wide horizontally (around 1.5-2") The barrel is a s/s Shilen match with a reasonably thick magnum type contour and a 1-10" twist, and the action is a pre-'64. The action ahd chamber area have been glass-bedded. Any suggestions?

Does the rifle have a windage-adjustable rear scope base (Redfield-type)? If it does, the windage screws may be loose, which can cause horizontal, back-and-forth grouping. If the group is "stringing" in one direction, the barrel may be shooting away from excess forend contact on one side of the barrel channel.
