L61R "Finnbear" in 30-06 serial number 68XXX, M-C stock.

I'm quite sure that your rifles manufacturing year is 1974. In this year SAKO sells special L61R -batch to U.S.A.

All the info I was able to get from the Sako website is that it must be made after 1972.

I am however not situated in the US, so I dont know if the special batch in 1974 is relevant to the matter.

So I can't help more because my books do not tell more. Maybe your rifles birthday could be a little later than 1974. :-)

All the Sako information I have is as follows -

Sako L61R serial number 1 left the factory on 31-01-1962 and serial number 90954 left the factory on 12-09-1972.
I would assume yours might be from about 1970 or so?
