Joel/AK35 whelen to 358 norma?
Can it be done with just a simple reamer job? I already have a bolt, mag etc worked out, just curious about the chambering.
Thanks

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.
Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."
Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

Toomany ToolsAs long as you open the boltface and it fits in the magazine box you should be able to rechamber to the .358 Norma Magnum.

Idaho Sharpshooterit will not be of much benefit if you have a twist slower than 1:12", IMHO. The benefit of the 358NM is use of heavier bullets at greater velocity.

Joel/AKThanks guys,
Reason I asked 1) I like the 35's. I just have no need for a whelen due to my likeing of my 9.3x62. 2) soon I will be reieving a magnum length mauser action and since I have the whelen bbl.......
or plan B is to go ahead with the 458AR. I talked to my smith and hes familiar with the AR. He visits here but doesnt post.

Joel,
Go ahead and do the 470 AR like me. Everybody's got a 458, do the .470.
Seriously I do like the Norma, but I told you my thing on the Whelen. This would be a tough one for me, but I've already decided on the 470AR.
