I've never had a 222, and am contemplating getting a new TC Contender barrel chambered in it just to play around with. Should I decide it is more hassle than what it it worth, can it just be reamed out to 223? for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside | ||

Yes, but from my experience the .223 has given up very little if anything to the 222. The only reason for a 222 today is some perceived accuracy and a bit of nostalgia. Of the six 223s I've owned the accuracy was every bit as good as the best 222 I've owned and that's saying a lot. Both are extremely accurate......personally I'd just do the 223 in the first place. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Chambering the 222 to the 223 is easy BUT! Sometimes--- you enounter a slight bright ring on the newly fired 223 brass where the shoulder of the original [222 Rem] chamer has been moved forward. It doesn`t appear to cause any FUNCTIONAL problems but it is a visual thing. If you can live with a 223 case with a slight ring around the collar????? No big deal.
