6,5-284 Norma is factory cambering with brass from Norma, Lapua and Hornady. You can easily get reloading dies better resale value.

A long action for a 6,5-284 is fine since you can seat out the bullets. I doubt you would have any serious problems with the feeding.

I would go for a 25 or 26 inch barrel and 1-8 or 1-8,5 in twist. Feed it with Norma MRP, Vihtavuori N-160, N-165 or reloader 22 or 25.

your reply from Dan Belisle hit it exactly. your action is already setup for the 06 case family, no feed problems. my current project is a 6.5-284 but is on a short action. enjoy your 6.5 as I will mine
