I need to buy a couple of new bore guides as my Stony Points have worn out.

So my question is quite simple. Who, regardless of cost makes the best, most functional, liquid tight, and durrable bore guide?

I will make my purchase chiose based on the posts I receive here.

Great thanks,
Art.

ART,

I have a dewey bore guide for my rem 700 vssf 22/250 and I like it it is made out of alloy and brass and with it's chamber piece it makes a nice snug fit. I must confess however that this is the only bore guide I won. I also trimmed a little of the end of it as my cleaning rod was not longenough to clear the barrel in standard configuration.

Remember, you said cost not an issue. Here's the one that many of the Benchrester's are going to:

Sinclair, hands down. It is light, simple, fits the action and I have used both Dewey and Stony Point bore guides. You couldn't give me another Stony Point and IMO the Dewey comes in a far second to the Sinclair.

One more vote for the Sinclair O-ring boreguides. Best I have used (but then again, I have not used all the other types... [Wink] ).

Rduncan is correct. If you want the best regardless of cost, that's it. It is expensive. The next best is the Lucas, and it is excellent. Sinclair will basically do the job but still allows considerable slop with the rod. ...ol blue

Midway handles a good bore guide. Sinclair seems to have copied it, or the other way around.
