I'm getting ready to build a 6.5 -06 on an m48 yugo action.My stock choices are kind of limited,but I've settled on a Boyds thumbhole stock.These are inletted for a #1 Barrel Contour,and i'd like to get get a #4 BC. Will i be able to inlet enough to make this stock work well?  | ||

You could possibly make enough alterations to make it work, but you'd be better off either starting with somethng like a VZ-24 or just making it a 6.5x55. A 6.5/284 would be about the right length for a M-48 and is equal to a 6.5/06 but may not feed very well. | |||

Or try a 6.5 x 57 ( or 6.5 x 257 Roberts). I ended up ordering a couple of barrel channel tools from Boyds and have used them to open up quite a few barrels, even factory barrels to free float my barrels that were not free floated at the factory.
