Im going to get some warne rings .

Are either the Weaver or Warne or luepold weaver style bases better than the each other?

Im shopping for a FN mauser so I dont thing Luepold makes them for FN.

Might need a front extension base for a 2x7 luepold on a FN any one know ? Or how wide is a warne ring itself?

The Warne Maxima (Weaver style) bases are the best on the market if you are wanting to go that route. They are machined from steel and their tolerances are far tighter than any other Weaver style base. If you use the QD rings the WILL return right back to zero when re-installed where other makes just are not precise enough top do that. I have the Maximas on some of my rifles but prefer the Premiers by far. The Premiers are far trimmer and cleaner lined and milled from solid steel.

Warne makes extension bases for FN in both the Premier and Maxima. If you have any questions talk to Ron at Warne and he will take great care of you.

GSP7,

I just bought Leupold FN Mauser QD mounts for around $40, but they are the type of mount that take the Leupold specific rings.

What type of mounts are you looking for?

Rick, I just went through the same with Warne bases for a Cooper. In the end, since Ron@Warne could not sell to me directly, he suggested I call Lock, Stock & Barrel, and they ordered the bases for me. How much did they cost?? I don't know, but I guess I'll be paying Warne list price for them?? I don't know if that is below Brownells' price??

All the Warne distributors I have come across (Cabelas, Brownells, Natchess etc), only list a fraction of the Warne bases - probably the ones that sell the most. For the less common bases, I guess you'll have to have a distributor order specially for you. Still, the bases don't look massively expensive. I think Warne lists their Maxima bases around 22$.

I have a Leupold 2x7 on my M70 375H&H in Leupold QRW rings and it just fits. It wouldn't with the Warne QD rings because of the way they are designed. It would have worked if they made a more senseble design.

They might work on a shorter (normal) action...

2 of my FNs, I used luepold std reverse front. One has a vx3, 4.5x14x40 other a 2x7.

My 3rd FN the rear holes are back farther , It had a buehler mount. The lueplod rear needs to be Cut/clearanced alot so the bolt handle can cock.

Thought id try some Talley,Warne concocktion.

Got some redfield senior 2 piece bases that fit,(rear is short and centered) but need a extention front ring.

Thought id try some talleys or warnes

bewildered Did I just say that?

Time for beer
