| Excellent. That's what I was looking for. A friend is going to buy one of the 550 Magnums and was asking me about that. |

| Unfortunately not all CZ floorplates are milled steel. I ordered a full stock version in 6.5x55 and the damned thing had a hinged polymer floorplate. IMO plastic on wood stocked hunting rifle is a sin.
I wonder what CZ would think if I wrote them a polite letter indicating that I ordered the rifle based on the expectation that it would be made using their usual traditional materials + manufacturing and that I expect a steel floorplate to be sent to me at their expense?

| I would recommend that you do contact CZ because they have a program in which they will switch out the plastic ones for a steel one. I got a fullstock for a friend of my little brother and his had a plastic floorplate and a plastic follower. I called Mike at CZ first, he told me they had the parts in and to mail them to him, I did, and a couple of weeks later got back a steel magazine follower marked in the proper caliber and a steel floorplate. I did pay for the shipping to CZ-USA in Kansas City, Kansas, but that didn't bother me. This very subject came up on another forum and I wrote the same response. Some fellow who thinks that God made heaven and earth, man, and then Remington rifles responded that CZ should not have produced rifles with plastic on them in the first place. I didn't respond because this is the type of fanatic that believes no matter how many recalls are made, his opinion is right ... period. Anyway, I would recommend calling CZ first. There is a toll-free number somewhere on the company. Good luck. Tom Purdom |

I live in Czech republic about 30km from factory and I have seen many of variations but in Czech republic no plastic at all. May be they use it for export only. |

Weak mag spring, or cartridges designed too short? |
