Just got a Husq. Large Ring Action with a Featherweight Contour Shilen stainless barrel in 7x64, 22" long and man is it skinny. The action has been nickle plated and bead blasted so it matches the barrel pretty well. Already has a Timney trigger and Winchester type three position safety.

I'm going to put a B&C stock on it, I think. I've been real happy with the B&C on my 7x57, but also with the laminated Boyds JRS Classic on my 458.

Anyway, what do you guys think of the B&C NaturalGear stock with a stainless barrel?

Any other options welcome, price is definately an object here, trying to stay under $3-400 for the stock and bedding. The B&C Site is at http://www.bellandcarlson.com/ to see all the versions.

Hi. "...I've been real happy with the B&C..." I would think that says it all. Ain't nothing like being happy with one stock maker for your next one.

If it is anything like the B&C stocks on the new weatherby vanguards, then I would go for it. I have a new vanguard(or Fiberguard as they are known in Australia)with the B&C stock and I like the shape and finish texture. The cammo one you mentioned would be nice.

For the money I like the B&C stocks. To save even more you could attempt the bedding yourself.

The way I look at projects like this is that I usually do a good job and enjoy it. If the rifle does not shoot well then you can pay someone else to touch it up.

All you need is a round file and a dremel tool. The material in the B&C's is very easy to work with.
