I've got a Win. Mod. 70 25-06. It's the Classic Sporter with the wood stock. I hunt coyotes and whitetail with it. I'm thinking I'd like to put a composite stock on it. Possibly an H-S Precision, McMillian, or Hogue. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Borden Rimrock is also a fine stock

I've used McMillan too and it's a superb stock.

McMillan, McMillan, McMillan...and if you can’t get one of those you might want to settle for a McMillan! Smiler

North Texan

I remember Woodson. Use to go there to the "county line" for cold brew when I was a Pup and Throckmorton was dry. In Throckmorton I knew some of the Barringtons and Jay Gober. Occasionally I do a little repair work for Rob Brown

I have a Winchester Model 70 stock made by HS Precision with the aluminum bedding block. It is new in the wrapper. If interested I could email you a picture. I would sell it or take your stock in trade. One caveat. Even though these stocks have a bedding block, they still require glass bedding.

The County Line is still there, and they are now licensed for on-premises consumption.

Send me an email. I don't know what I want yet, and it might or might not be it, but I'll certainly take a look at it. Email address is in my profile.
