Looking for someone local who can do the typical things such as Barrel Shortening, Stock shortening,Cerrakote Stocks and metal? 100 mile radius of New Orleans would be helpful as shipping can be a pain...Thanks

Shipping only requires a box and a trip to the post office. Remove the metal from the stock; it makes a shorter package and harder for them to break the stock. Always use priority mail. Or ups.

I do agree with dpcd. UPS and USPS travels all over the USA.

Just like buying tooling. Even with the shipping and considering your time (providing you bulk your orders a bit) you can't really drive across town any cheaper than you can ship across the country. The only down side is, you can't reach across the counter and strangle someone if things don't work out right. But providing you do your home work, ask some people some questions and check the guy out before hand you can usually avoid any bad experiences. The nicest thing about shopping the entire country and not just using the only guy in town who says he's willing to give it a try, is that you can locate and get someone that has had a ton of experience doing the thing that you want done. Specialists not only usually do better work, but they also do it faster and cheaper because they are tooled up to do it.

Hey, how did you know that people want to reach across the counter and strangle me? Hard to believe, I know.

If you insist on Louseyana, look up David Christman. He is as good as it gets. He lives in New Delhi. He has built at least 3 customs for me. Great and honest guy.
