I see Dakota is still making rifles and selling actions. Is anyone buying them?

Remington is now managing the operation. I believe they plan to use this as a higher end of their line; however, that could change in a heartbeat!

i think the quality of the dakotas was better when don allen owned the company.
charlie kokesh was a worthless pos and a criminal.
anyone with his personality surely will-would not improve a product. he boosted the prices higher and now remington is stuck with that price point. rarely does a company lower prices.

if remington was bright about this situation they would lower the price and solidify the continuity re: quality of the product.

they would win back a lot of buyers. like me.

guess what i am saying is dakota probably uses the same machinery and processes to build an action as before. that action would be worked over anyway by a gunsmith before building a rifle so what has changed now?

BTW, nice avatar!

Had my annual finger wand Doctor's appointment yesterday. And, my gun nut Doctor was asking me specifically about Dakota's quality now, under Remington. I wasn't able to answer his question 'cause I really don't know.
You should see his Model 70 in 270, all dressed up with a Wood's custom stock, and some awesome, tasteful engraving. It would make you drool.. It did me...

I know a deal with Remington was announced but does anyone know if the deal has actually closed? If you take a look at the Dakota website you'll find there's much that needs to be updated. A new owner would presumably clean up the website fairly quickly.

When Remington takes over you'll know it right off.
There will be blueing salts leaching out between the reciever and barrel!
