If you were compareing 2 piece scope bases for a winchester model 70 and a remington 700...Does Anyone know the front ring to rear bridge hight differents between a winchester model 70 std and a Remington 700.

Are they the same ? Or would one have a thicker rear scope base to plane.

Pre 1974 700 receivers have a .117†height difference between front ring and rear bridge surfaces...and post 1974’s have a .100†difference. From what I have read this change in height was part of the changes made to the receivers to incorporate the anti-bind rail for the bolts.

I don’t know what the measurements for Winchester 70’s are.
