A lesson in irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

There use to be a large, longtime gun shop on Murfreesboro Road. The name escapes me but they are on the right heading South out of town. They always had tons of older, collectible guns. They would know where everyone else is and what their specialties would be.

Franklin Gun Shop is a suburb just south of town, and they have a nice selection too.

Just off I-65, not too far from a large mall (Cool Springs Mall).

Gamefair has very nice, high end guns...I always like to stop in there.

It's only a few miles away from Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Bowling Green is a short trip to Nashville down I-65. I wouldn't even rate it a trip! Search Clarksville, TN; Radcliffe, KY or even Louisville, KY on yahoo yellow pages or similar. Those first two are GI towns, Ft's Campbell and Knox, respectively. Search gun shops and pawn shops.

Two of the better stocked (and decently priced) gun shops within an hour or so of Bowling Green are:

Guns and Leather in Greenbrier, TN and Whittaker's, near Owensboro, KY,

Actually Whittakers may be the most well stocked gun stores you'll see anywhere. I guarantee a visit would be worth your time.

When do you expect to be in Bowling Green? There may be something going on at the Bowling Green / Green River Gun Club if you want to get out and visit with like minded folks for a while.

Thanks guys.

Guncat, I fly into Nashville on the 6th at night and fly out on the 15th. I see that there is a CAS on the 14th, I'm gonna do what I can to visit and see it. Thanks for the link.
