Well the particular thread had a link to the values and how much the different guns sold for i bought a 308 norma magnum parkerhale mauser on a muaser safari de luxe action i'm told they make good barrells just info in general i have not had a chance to really find out the accuaracy of this rifle the owner before me put a piece of junk tasco scope on it which was already broke which is no surprise my friend is gonna let me burrow a leupy 4x15 to check accuracy i might be wrong on the scope size as it don't matter being what he has is sufficent to find accuracy. the person before me scared me half to death when hr told me he fire formed 7mm rem brass for reloading and it can never be good when you fire a 28 cal bullet through a 30cal so i'm a little concerned

Tbear Before you give yourself an ulcer thinking about the past owner fire forming cases from 7mm Rem let me explain what he was doing. 308 Norma brass is expensive and quite difficult to find in some areas.Brass can be made from some more common calibres. You can run 7mm rem cases into a 308 Norma die to expand the necks and then load that case with a 30 cal bullet. This will result in the case headspacing on the belt and stretching the case a bit so the fireformed case will not last very long. It will also have a neck a little shorter than it should be. A better way is to neck down 338 cases. Size them only enough to allow you to chamber them with firm pressure when you close the bolt. This will have the case headspacing on the neck and when you load this case with a 30 cal bullet and fireform it you will have a perfectly formed case but again the neck will be a little shorter than factory brass.Cases formed in this manner will last as long as factory brass providing you have your sizing die adjusted properly. You can also shorten and size 300 win mag or 300 H&H but that is more work. Actually 7mm Weatherby brass can be used to form cases that are the proper length but they are almost as expensive as the 308 norma brass. As for the Parker Hale rifles. They were made in England and they had pretty good barrels on them. They are made quite light.Originally P-H started sporterizing military Mauser 98's. They made a couple models. One with a hinged floorplate and later with a detachable clip. These were the model 1000 & 1000C (clip ). These models have the thumb slot on the left side of the action for the military charger clips and rather plain stocks. As their supply of military actions was running low they used a flat topped mauser action supplied by Brno. These usually have "Hussar" stamped on the left side of the action as well as the Brno stamp. There were not many of these made.PH then arranged for Santa Barbra of Spain to supply actions to them. These actions do not have the thumb slot on the left side of the action. They also have cheap white metal trigger with side safety. These can with hinged floorplates in the model 1200 and with a clip in the 1200 C. Most of these rifles had very light coloured (almost blonde) walnut stocks. They also made a a molel 1100 with a darker walnut stock and hinged floorplate. Some of the early santa Barbra actions were finished quite well but most of the later models that I seen were getting rougher and rougher. These would be the same actions that Santa Barbra sold under their own name either as actions or as do it yourself rifle kit where you blued the barreled action, finished the stock and put it together. They made a couple other models also, a target rifle in 308 win and an African model in 375 H&H and 458 win. Hope this helps
