I am going to list this post in both the Gunsmithing and Shotgunning forums. I have a Spanish made Zabala double barrel 10ga shotgun. I am looking for a gunsmith to do some work on it for a reasonable price. I want to have the barrels tapped to add screw-in choke tubes. I would prefer to use Browning Invector choke tubes. I also would like to have the forcing cones lengthened. I am hoping someone on these forums can point me toward a trusted gunsmith. Can you give me contact information for a gunsmith that can do this modifications for me? Thanks, Giraffe Hunter

There is a company call Lefever Arms up in the Utica area somewhere that does a lot of shotgun work, and they are good!

Giraffe: I was going to make the same comment about Lefeaver. I had them do a barrel job for me years ago on a .270 Win. At the time they were in Illion - I went to their shop. This was in 1966 or so and I have no idea if they are still in business. I think I'd really give 'em a try. Also, I don't know if the owners are related in any way to the old man. I well remember the shop as you walked in. Warped, wood boards on the floor with the walls loaded with firearms. Large windows on both sides of the door facing the street with the counter at the back. Went in with the .270 & the dealer I bought it from, gave the rifle to the gunsmith. He took in the back, came out about 5 min. later & said "Have you been shooting hot handloads? This thing has a blown chamber". I hadn't been shooting hot anything so I told him "no" & had him re-barrel with a Douglas. Enough of this diatribe, so I'll skedaddle. Try locating them in Illion. Bear in Fairbanks
