I have a McGowan barrel chambered for 375/338 Win. and threaded for a large ring Mauser98. Would this barrel work on a CZ550 action or would it need to be rethreaded? Has anyone used these actions for custom projects and if so what are your opinions of them? I was quoted a price of $380.00 for a 30-06 length action. How is that for a price?

From all I've heard, they are very good actions. Unfortunately the thread isn't the 1.10" X 12 used in 98 mausers. That sounds like a good price, the ones I've seen in town are $500-550 for the -06 action.

I still have the VZ-24 action I was going to use with it, and I'll sell it for alot less than $380!
