Just an impartial observation, but if you give your credit card number to a company what difference does it make how long they have or don’t have it on file? If someone is going to misuse that information one day or five weeks isn’t going to make much difference is it? IMO expecting a small company to take their time to contact you personally when something becomes available is a “courtesy†that I would only expect if I was a frequent and really good customer...especially if they had other customers standing in line for the item ready to fork over the cash right then.

Rick, in my gun business we are only 4 people total. We acknowledge each order with an e-mail with shipping date and also when funds are received. This is not my only business, but they are handled the same. Butch

Butch, I’m not condemning or defending anyone in this squabble, just expressing my opinion that most small businesses don’t have the time or the inclination to be communicating about product availability to people who haven’t yet placed an order and/or given them at least a deposit or credit card number for an order. I would assume that tons of people contact companies all the time with an “interest†in a product and to me its pretty naive to demand that all of them keep you up to date on things unless and until you give them some sort of commitment that you intend to actually purchase the product in question. I know in my business I don’t do shit until I have a signed contract in my hand that obligates the other party to pay me when I perform the work, and I personally don’t have a bit of problem with others expecting the same from me.

Jimmyd-223 I read just fine, do not type so well. Go to Brownells WEB page and type in stock# 954-100-000 you will find Williams Firearms products for sale. It is not easy to run a small business. Matt Williams puts out a quality product I challange you to find the same quality elsewhere. How he manages his business is none of mine. Pam is a key person in his business she went on vacation. I also had a order pending, Called her she had record of it. Called me later an verfied my CC#. I told her I hoped she enjoyed her vacation and welcome back. I deal with small business's on a regular basis, with my job with a large company. They invest a lot of money, take risk, and work long hours to make it and put up with govermemt regulations. Mabey you could start a small firearms parts business and do better than Matt Milliams. I have do business with Matt Wiulliams, Jim Wisner, Mark Penrod & Ed Delorge all fine people working very hard to stay in business. JimmyD I am sure you are perfect and never make a mistake because you worked to hard.

I had to wait over a year to get the 2 Mod. 70 etractors I ordered but got the SS trigger guard pronto. You just have to be prepared to wait. These forums are a hoot! Some guys will squeal like a pig because the President doesn't console them daily and at the same time bitch about paying 2 cents more for a part from XYZ supplier than ABC supplier. If one is that damn important they should get their your own machine shop and have at it! ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. I get nervous when I find myself agreeing with Will, esp. since he started wearing short breeches after dark. Anyway, half the fun is waiting. You want it quick, go to burger doodle. I have sent money to Matt, Jim Wisner, here, there and everywhere else. Sometime stuff shows up very quickly and scares me. I buy Krieger barrels, so a 16 week turn around time seems normal. The only sane answer is to always have three to five projects in various stages of completion. Depending on your disposition then there are many more opportunities for joy at progress or devastation over delay. LD
