I have a question as to how secure the floor plate is on a CZ 550. On a hard recoiling cartridge as the 458 Lott; Will they stay secure under this recoil or would it be wise to have them tack welded shut?

On my 416 Rigby it has stayed shut so far with no problems.

That is one complaint I have never heard about a CZ Magnum. The floorplate release spring is very stout. Mine is a 550 Magnum which has about twice the recoil impulse of a 458 Lott and no problems (except the the inevitable headache).

"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

Thanks guys;
I am having some work done to the rifle and was curious if it was something I might have addressed while it was in the shop if need be.
Guess not! Saving me money!
