Does anyone have a recommendation for a good 1st book for general gunsmithing. Specifically I am planning on refininshing a currently owned stock including putting on a new recoil pad. Thought I'd start trying to 'school up' Regards--Don

"GUNSMITHING" by ROY DUNLAP. This became the Bible for many of us. Some of it is dated, but this is the best of the best first timer. My only regret is mine is so greased stained and worn and I never had ROY sign it, while he was still alive. This book helped me make a living for a new family and saved my bacon more than once. Thank goodness I was able to tell ROY this in person, years later.

AMEN. Another good source is "Gunsmithing Tips", put out by WOLF pub
