Here is my new toy. I had been thinking about mausers and Rem 700s but found this little jewel and love it. It is a Rem 600 222Rem in a custom stock.









The bedding needs WORK and the barrel is shot out 4" groups at 100yds.



I am wanting to bed it and fit it with a custom barrel in 17-222 My question is what barrel maker to use and i would like Gunsmith suggestions...prefereably in DFW TX but may consider others. Tried on Saubier and have gotten ZERO response.



Any suggestions here???

Why not a Shilen barrel put on at their shop in Ennis? They don't offer 17/222 but do have a couple variations of the 17 Rem and the 17 Mach IV which is a great little cartridge.

I am very partial to shilen....I have 4 of theirs for my Encore. All of them medium bores. This will be my first sub caliber and wondered if there were any makers head and shoulders above the rest in that category.
