I ordered a 3 position PTG safety for my 9.3 husqvarna. I am going to install it myself. I took the bolt apart today to discover that the firing pin and cocking piece were already fit for 3 position safety. The bolt handle is a bent but NOT low enough for a scope. The receiver is not drilled and tapped. So why would these modifications be done? I guess that it was on another rifle and the person botched the conversion so he swapped them into my gun. Reasonable explanation? I don't have the new shroud yet. But this has my wheels turning. The cocking piece is beveled on both sides like the person filed the wrong side first. Most likely I'll need a new cocking piece. But can I not just flip the firing pin and do the other side if it is at a wrong angle or too much angle?

Wait until you actually get the new parts; you have no way of knowing what you will need until you do. If you can file a cocking piece it is too soft. Not sure what was done to the firing pin or why.
