Ok open for some suggestions. Several years ago I had built a very light 338wm using a ruger M77 receiver. Blind magazine fiberglass stock. 3 338WMags fit just fine. Well I have now rebarreled it to 300WSM. I relieved the bottom of the mag well in the stock so the mag box is flush across the bottom. Afraid to go any deeper for fear of coming out the bottom of the stock. As it stands I can get 3 WSM in the magazine but don't have enough room to push the bolt over them. Next thoughts were to relieve the follower and the magazine box sides. Looks like I need about 1/16 more clearance. Any ideas? As usual just my $.02 Paul K

I would guess that the solution lies in widening the mag box. "There are only three kinds of people; those who can count, and those who can't."

Ramrod 340, You might get some ideas by looking at the RUM mag box and the way it is cut out. It allows bigger britches for the larger cartridges to fit more comfortably in the box without undue stress to the bottm of your blind mag. Hell, it might even fit your Ruger if you use a Rsaum box. olcrip, Thanks for the thought. Since Ruger now chambers for the 300WSM does anyone know if the box and follower are different than the standard magnums? Their parts list doesn't list a difference. I faxed their parts dept to ask. Got tired of sitting on hold. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Well guys, Got a reply from Ruger. Both the follower and magazine box are different on the 300WSM. So I placed an order. Will see just how different when they get here. As usual just my $.02 Paul K
