Sako75, yes I have on a couple rifles. But most recently got a rifle with a ceramic coating that is by far the hardest applied finish I have seen.

Check it out at www.fit4duty.us

Good Luck!

What have you heard about that ceramic coating with regards to salt spray resistance and whether or not it flakes if the metal takes a sharp cornered ding? Also, how lubrous does it seem to you (ie would it be good to apply to the internals, or is it more of a coating for the outside of the gun?)?
Thanks,
JCN

My old .300 Win. Mag. that Glen Pearce built for me some eleven years ago has a receiver that was finished with Robar's NP3. That rifle has lived through just about everything from Alaska to Texas and from Oregon to Tanzania, including being strapped to the struts of an airplace in Alaska, horsewrecks, downpours, freezing rain, dusty 100 degree temperatures -- you name it.

Through it all, that finish has held up prefectly. NP3 is very tough stuff, and it has totally prevented rust on the receiver of that old rifle of mine, plus it does an incredible job of slicking up the action. I highly recommend it.

A caution: You'll need to have the threads of the receiver's scopemounting holes chased out with a tap in order to remove the NP3 after the finish has been applied. Sinse NP3 is very slick, you might have trouble keeping the screws tight (even with Loc-Tite applied) unless you follow this proceedure..........

JCN, the rifle I currently have has about 200 rounds total down the tube of 308 match ammo. The Cerakote material is manufactured by www.nicindustries.com. Flaking on the muzzle, nope. I will say that the finish seems a little "grainy" that is it isn't smooth like a Teflon based finish. But it is lubricious. You can contact Bruce at Fit 4 Duty as well as our very own "Celt" for more indepth info.

Good Luck!
