i am about to bed a ruger 77 hawkeye in 338 win. mag. with the laminated stock. i will use aluminum pillars. my question is should the receiver sides be bedded and the bottom of the sides of the receiver. it appears that the bottom sides of the receiver rest on a narrow ledge inletted into the stock. i could take a dremmel tool with a burr and at a 45 degree angle remove some wood to allow for the epoxy to support the receiver between the front ring and rear tang. i've bedded several rifles but never a 77. thanks for any information.
