I installed a used timney trigger in a model 700 today. When I got the trigger all adjustments were backed out and loose. After installation pull was set at 24 OZ. and breaks like glass. However if you engage safety the pull weight varies up to 50 OZ. As long as safety is off the pull says constant at 24 OZ. What needs adjusting to fix this problem?
Thanks Raghorn

First I need some better information-----

It sounds like the trigger pull is 50 oz. with the safety on.... Well obviously if it shoots at all with the safety on you have a *serious* problem!!

There is NO single lever trigger that's safe at 24 oz. Increase it to at least 2 1/2 lbs and try to explain what the problem is a little clearer and I'll try to help.

JBelk,
I will explain what the trigger is doing as best I can. The trigger pull is 24 oz. when you dryfire with the safety in the off position. As long as you do not engage the safety the pull stays at 24 oz. If you engage the safety "ON" then back to the off position, the pull increases to approx. 50 oz. In other words, as long as you do not engage the safety the pull stays at 24 oz.
If you put safety on then back off to fire the pull goes to 50 oz...................Raghorn
