I have a highly blued octagon barrel that has a few rust pits on it. Is there any way to clean them up so they don't appear so ugly? Thanks, Jeff

The barrel has to be draw filed down, true and straight, otherwise the pits, or where they were, will always be ugly. IE, the entire barrel has to be redone. Or they can be TIG welded in, but not on a modern cartridge barrel. Either way, costs $; lot of hand work, and 8 sides all have to be re profiled. What is the barrel on?
