I went to Ellis Brown’s website to get his contact information, and I discovered that Colorado’s silly new laws regarding FFL’s have driven him out of business. Such a B.S. state I live in.

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

That is so sad. In this economy, it's hard enough to keep a small business going. It's becoming very difficult to find a competent gunsmith. Most of the "gunsmiths" in this area specialize in snapping together black plastic rifles.

AMEN to what Colorado Matt said! In 1974 my wife and I started a business in Manitou Springs Colorado.. It was called The Mountain Man. Muzzleloaders and cap and ball pistols only! its still there over 50 years later and now owned by my daughter. Always had an ffl but never sold a firearm. Never will sell a firearm. Colorado now intends to impose a new $400 license on dealers on guns and ammo sellers. I anticipate un upcoming battle over our situation since what we have always sold are not firearms. Gun dealers are fleeing colorado, atleast here in the southern part of the state. new gun/ammo tax too. Tax will be @15% on guns and ammo and components. Colorado has been Californicated and its a real shame!

Colorado has been trying to out-California California for many years now.

It’s like Coloradans have a lib-tard inferiority complex.

It’s not unique to Colorado, but it’s a sickening trend to all freedom-loving Americans.

Don't blame Coloradans. Very few of the idiots pushing this crap were born here. Unfortunately, Denver and Boulder attract these people from the rest of the country, and then the new comers out vote the rest of us.

I have been here for almost 30 years. Grew up in west TX, and met my Fort Collins native wife at Abilene Christian. The communists have very strategically targeted this state in a number of ways. Don’t want to get in trouble talking politics, but this state was center right when I came in ‘95. At that time I heard natives complain about Texans moving here. Now, it’s communists from many states, but especially California. The schools, higher and lower ed, are indoctrination camps, so much change has happened from within. Our Senator Michael a Bennet is Lawyer from Connecticut. Just a few observations. I would move out, but I’m anchored by family.

I was asking loud-n-boomer, but I understand your point. It's not a new scenario.

I grew up in colorado and joined the Army after HS. The problem began in the late 70's when the oil embargo happened 78 if my memory serves me. What alot of people didn't realize that Colorado's economy at the time was based on OIL/Gas, Ranching, Farming , Mining, and tourism. So doing what states and cities do to try an make their cities and state rescission proof. So they brought in Hi Tech. Colorado didn't have a large Hi-tech workforce so they had people come in from Texas, New England and californa. Well the Texans came helped establish things and went back to Texas. The other two groups came, stayed , bred and imported others with the same politics. And they voted. So It was a self inflicted wounding and fast forward 40 some years and you have it's current state of mess.

Wildmansix is spot on! I moved to Colorado in 1973 from Indiana. Opened The Mountain Man in 1974. Things have steadily become more and more liberal since about 1980. We used to have bumper stickers that said: Don’t Californicate Colorado but that is exactly what happened. Our current governor was raised in California I believe.
