Has anyone converted a ruger M77 (old model) to 375 dakota?
I found one old thread about 3 years ago postulating that it might work, but just wondered if it had been done. Any advantage to the round vs. the .375 taylor?

The Dakota will give you about 9grs of capacity and headstamped brass.
also curious as to whether the difference in case size causes problems with magazine capacity and how much work would have to be done to the bolt face.

jeffeossoI converted one to the 416 AR... swapped the box for a mkII, opened the ramp, windowed the box, holds 3 down, no problem.
the AR is a shortened and improved 375 RUM case

Thanks Jeff. I think my biggest questions you probably answered which were 1. Can the magazine be made to hold more than one round after chambering the first and 2. Does the bolt face have to be modified?

should hold about 3 down, fairly easily, bolt face MIGHT but probably won't, need to be modified.
