Quick help identifying mauser action please
I just found what I think is a clean Mexican 1910 small ring mauser. But not sure so here are the markings: around the crest is Fabrica National De Armas and under that is 1931.It has the standerd Mauser flag safety and cocking peice.

The bolt and reciver serial #s match, it has no rust or pitting a bit of splochy stains here and there. I can pull the action from the stock later to check under wood line. It's a complete rifle with no modifactions at all.

The thing that made me wonder is the 1931 on the reciver I thought it would be 1910 or 1936.

So, is this a 1910 Small Ring Mexican Mauser?

The price is $199.00. I thought thats pretty good for a clean 1910 Mex, if indeed thats what it is.

I didn't think about it at the time so just glanced at the bolt face, but I belive it was clean with no pits.

It's a Mauser thing, you wouldn't understand.

It's a 1910 and a decent price for it.

Pitting below wood line and on top of action under and in front of the ring/handguard extension is very common. Can usually be welded up, but can be expensive if you are not doing it yourself.

Very good sign that no pits are on the matching bolt face. Usually they are pitted

I'll be darned, I lucked out!A really nice Mexican 1910.

I had the action pulled from the stock today and it is perfect. No pitting or rust or anything, it looked like new!

So obviously I got it. I think it will become a 6.5x55.

as long as its a small ring, its a 1910 .. if a large ring, intermediate action, its a 26..

excellent price if a 1910...
