This is for sale on Allan's Armory website. I thought someone here would love to own it for a custom build?

MLG14 Mexican Model 1910 Mauser "sporter" {3006}. This model has small ring 98 Mauser action, much in demand for making lightweight sporters. The stock has been cut down and refinished with oil based finish. Wood is in VG condition except for a few old cracks and very small areas of wood damage touching the buttplate. The wood looks very stable, it was just old when refinished. There are a couple of small brass screws by the rear sling swivel, maybe an old repair. Bolt handle has been bent and stock inletted. Metal has been refinished/parkerized 98%+. There are two areas of small shallow pitting under the parkerization. The rear side ladder and V notch are present, the slide is not (can't take those 1,000 yard iron site shots!). Front site looks like original military. Barrel cut to 23 3/4". Bore has VG+ to Excellent lands, grooves have mirror shine (looks new). $235

The magazine isn't long enough to hold a .30-06 round without serious modifications. If it was the same person that "fixed" the bolt handle that did the magazine I'd have to pass.

I might pay that for a 1936 but not for a 1910 that has the bolt handle screwed up!

Intresting, I'd rather have a 1910 any day.

Terry,
They seem to be selling them as actions for that much money today. I seem to remember that there were some mexican military actions that were modified by the govt. to hold the 06 round. I have never seen one but I have seen them for sale and was told that. You are right though, it would take quite a bit of alteration to the box.

Yea, that's about what I paid for my action that you have now. My bolt handle looks a little nicer though Big Grin

Seriously! If the gun was designed for the X57mm rounds then yahoooo! In todays market it is hard to get something that is not a H&H, '06, or 308 length magazine. I love the fact that there are a few X57mm action out there including the short action MRC1999.

But hey, I posted this in case there was someone searching for a Mexican for a new custom, not for me.
