I am putting a 221 fireball short action savage together for my wife. Does anyone know where I can get a wood stock so I can cut it down to fit her? All the savage wood stocks I have seen are for the long actions, and the Savage homepage does not seem to have any wood stocks on it at all. The youth stocks are too big for her. Thanks.

That URL takes you to Richard's Microfit, a company that's often trashed and bashed in these pages. Some have gotten good results, others have not. Caveat emptor...

Actually, I have no problem with recommending that link. At a local gunshop, they use 30-50 of those stocks a year and have done so for many years. Their experience is very good and problems have been resolved promptly by the mfr. Good outfit with which to do business. I will spend the money for an exhibition grade French Walnut stock pretty soon and it will be Richards classic stock.
