Any scope mounts available for a #3 rifle in .22 Hornet, besides Weaver ? A 3-9 Leupold doesn't appear to be able to have enough eye relief, even with Weaver extension rings. Any ideas, or different mounts available ? Thanks in advance. - gunsmither

Brownells has a weaver type made by moulds that extends back over the reciever,they are on page 268,specificaly for #1 models but w/a little drilling should work.w/regards

Gunsmither- You have probably already found a solution, but if you haven't, I have a set of Redfield bases on my #3, which fit Redfield/Leupold rings. I'm having the #3 rebarrelled at this time with a barrel with #1 contour and I'm undecided until I have the finished rifle in hand whether to use the old #3 bases or whether to get a #1 base, which is available thru Numrich.

The Redfield bases are kind of ugly (rectangular blocks) but work very well.
