Hi,
Was just wondering if anyone knew when Sako began producing left hand rifles. I have a M591, but I don't know whether the previous generation, L579, was also produced in left hand versions.
Anyone up on the older Sakos?

Stu, I believe the earliest production Sako in Left hand would be the AV. To my knowledge Sako didn't make a left hand in the AI, AII and earlier actions. In 1993, they came out with the 591 and 691 in left hand. I am not sure if they made the 491 in a lefty. Lou

Lou,

Thanks. A couple more questions if you don't mind.
Did the AV still have the integral recoil lug? I'm a little foggy on the production details of actions between the L579, 679 etc series, and the current model 75. If you could give me a very brief summary that would be most appreciated.
