I'm converting an older 770- 7mm rem mag from blind to drop floor plate (one piece). The original mag box is not tall enough. I've done this before and the mag box I bought had ML on the side of it. I can't seem to find that one again but see others. All designated for long action magnum but different letters on the side, such as BF or H. How to decide which one to buy? Or will it make that much difference as long as it is for long action magnum? This is in a new stock, not the original.

I find that it doesn't make any difference; all are the same length after you remove (drill out) the spot welded in spacer, and those ridges on the sides of some of them, aren't necessary. For example, I have used 308 mags for 375s. Might have to bend the feed lips a bit is all.
