I've been working on a sorry old sporterized Springfield with badly fouled bore. After taking it out in the sun to get a better look, I notice that I have foolishly allowed Hoppe's No. 9 and other cleaning gunk to get into the sanded stock wood arund the receiver and wrist. I there any way to remove this stuff so that I can apply a Tru Oil finish? There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author | ||
