guy bought in a '98 Mauser to sell today and it was something I had not seen before. The action was Mil-surp but all marks had been removed so I couldn't tell much from it except that it had a serial number stamped on it.

The barrel was chambered for .30-06 and was marked
"National Arms Co NATO 60"
This got me to wondering if it was N A T O?

Can anyone tell me if NATO ever used a .30-06 and if they ever used '98 Mausers?
