I've found a potential sweet deal for a Rem 700 in 9.3x62mm w/ a #5 contour Douglas barrel. The wooden BDL stock, IMHO, won't cut the mustard for a Alaskan Brown Bear hunt in the fall.

So, I'm looking at Brownells and wanted to get the boards opinions on their selection of synthetic stocks.

1. Bell & Carlson Carbelite stock
2. Bell & Carlson Medalist stock
3. Hogue Overmolded stock
4. H-S Precision Pro-Series stock
5. Ramline Syn-tech stock
6. High Tech specialties stock
7. Six Enterprises stock

I've got a High Tech on a .338 and a Ramline on a .375H&H. Am going to replace the Ramline since its slick as hell and ugly. The High Tech is a great stock until you get into the .416 magnums and bigger.

I recently bought a Savage 110 30/06 in a pawn shop....price was right.....Rifle came with a Ramline stock.....as is, the Ramline stocks are absolutely worthless, a soft breeze will bend them, the stock is so weak tightenin' the front action screw would bind the bolt. After pillow beddin', glass beddin' a peice of tubein' in the barrel chanell, Two arrows in the forearm, glassbeddin' a peice of purple hart in the stock and installin'a limbsaver recoil pad,it is adecent rifle....54gr of VV 150, 165 noslers will shoot under 1in. 3 shot groups. But, Again, Ramline stocks are JUNK
