I have a 308 build on a p14 action it is very accurate but i get feeding problems. when i reload fast it throws the bullets out of the magazine box. I was told that it is because the magazine box was build for 303 rounds. does anybody have advice "Buy land they have stopped making it"- Mark Twain

That would be normal for a P-14 action because the feedrails are much different for the .303 British. The P-17 was made for the '06 head and body size and wouldn't be a problem. The feed rails on your rifle could be TIG'd up and re-cut but it would probably be cheaper for you to locate a P-17 action, unless yours has had extensive work such as filling in the "pond" on the rear bridge and any other custom work. If it extracts properly, I would guess the smith replaced the bolt with P-17 bolt. The easiest thing to do would probaly convert it to a .300 magnum of some sort but, then you'd need a P-14 bolt or have your's opened up. Nothing you can do is going to be cheap except feed the rounds slowly. How far a you from Nelspruit? If you're close by, take it to SABI Rifles and ask them what to do. They build beautiful rifles and are quite helpful. "I ask, sir, what is the Militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effective way to enslave them" - George Mason, co-author of the Second Amendment during the Virginia convention to ratify the Constitution
