a friend picked up a 308 rem 700 with a steiner target trigger.
Has any one seen these?
He said he could not get the bolt out.
There is no release and holding the trigger does not release the bolt.
I havent seen the rifle yet and was curious if any one had any dealings with this trigger.

I haven't seen or heard of a Steiner trigger but that doesn't mean much. As far as removing the bolt, the trigger probably has no bolt release built into it like the Remington and Timney triggers do. At the left rear of the receiver, you can see the bolt stop. By drawing the bolt back to a point just shy of bearing on the stop and depressing the spring loaded stop with a thin piece of metal or dental tool, you can then draw the bolt out.
