A young customer brought in the above handgun (in pieces) today and asked me to re-assemble it, as he could not. Apparently he has a fetish for completely disassembling mechanical devices. Everything looks good, but he destroyed the trigger play spring. This devil is riveted into the drawbar with a tiny truss head ss rivet that is not available from the usual parts houses. I can get one from a rivet company, but the rivet and tool to set it costs more than the pistol. I'm thinking of just tapping the rivet hole and anchoring the spring with a screw and Loctite. Anyone have any insights from prior experience? TIA, Bob

Never mind. I called Smith and Wesson today and they had the parts! The gunsmith even called and walked me through the install. Now that's customer service!!
