Just got the 20moa 1pc for my 700. The epoxy instructions are clear enough. But as anyone run into trouble with the mounts and epoxy?

I'm not sure where you're using it, but I've used it between bases and receivers and inside rings on my big bores.

No problems here. you just have to apply a little heat to melt the epoxy when you take it apart.

I put modeling clay or Playdoh in the screws in the outer screwholes and only use the two inner screwholes to snug the base down to the action.

I coat the whole top of the action with release agent in case I spill or slop some epoxy on it.

I put a coat of release agent on the screws, let it dry and then put a second coat on before I put any epoxy down.

I put half as much epoxy on the base as I think it needs because it squeezes down really thin and spreads further than you think.

I usually glass 2 piece, but I have a Farrell one piece on a Mauser that is just held down by the three 6-48 screws [no glass or Lok-Tite]. It gets great accuracy even with heavy recoil.

Thanks for the feedback. I am just goin to mount it and see what happens before I try the epoxy. This is going on Rem 700 short action in 308 with a 28" #7 shilen. Will try my hand at this f class stuff.

Thanks again.

Glassing in bases is more for assuring a good even surface fit than it is with holding them on against recoil.

A 700 with a 28†#7 contour is going to weigh double digits so I don’t really think recoil is going to be much of an issue.

My .308’s with 24†#7’s weigh in at almost 12 pounds without a scope.
